A magnificent earring and locket pendant set from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18kt rosy yellow gold and topped in sterling silver, this set is comprised of incredible Pear-shaped onyx cabochon stones adorned by a collective 2.25ctw of sparkling Rose Cut diamonds. The substantial locket and lovely earrings share the same motif; the rich black onyx cabochons are adorned by scalloped, silver-topped tiaras of bead-set Rose Cut diamonds and glitter beautifully as they catch the light. The backside of the onyx pendant reveals a rosy yellow gold frame holding a Rock Quartz Crystal pane, hinging open to hold a memento of the wearer's choosing. The locket hangs from a matching bail set with 7 graduated diamonds, ready to hang from a favorite chain. The bail is stamped with a French eagle's head, a maker's mark of "PM" separated by crossed keys, and "1028". The earrings share the impressive design down to the rock quartz crystal window and the hallmarked frames, however, they do not open. Each earring frame is stamped "8507", and one frame shares the French eagle and maker's marking. The dangling designs hang from a matching Rose Cut diamond-encrusted chain comprised of three additional links, and they each secure to a single round onyx cabochon by a hidden hook bail. The earrings are worn by simple wire, and they frame the face beautifully. For a day look, the ornate onyx cabochon designs can be removed for the surmounts to be enjoyed as simple drop earrings. An impressive and versatile set, this would be a breathtaking addition to a Victorian collection!
Measurements:?The pendant measures approximately 2 1/2" in length (including the diamond bail), 1 1/8" wide, and nearly 3/4" at its deepest point.
